Severe weather in the Southeast; Admin update

As typically happens when cold air runs in to warm, moist air, we have severe weather across the southeast, with at least 63 reports of tornado damage across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida in the last 24 hours …

Storm reports through 5am Thu Morning. Click to embiggen …

For coastal GA/SC, expect some rain and gusty winds this morning. The severe weather potential is fairly low, but there may be some isolated embedded thunderstorms this morning (between 8 and 10 in Savannah), and potentially another round this afternoon (around 2pm). Not a bad idea to keep the weather radio handy.

On an administrative note, still working on the next generation web/social media presence that better reflects both the range of my research and interests. Hope to have something to say after the first of the year. Stay tuned … (or, better yet, get a life and only check in if something interesting happens 😛 !)

  1. Thank you for the update. Thank you even more for the laugh at the end. I needed that today. 😂😉 You are so appreciated. 🤗

  2. You are our voice of uncertainty. No scare tactics, hyperbole or doom. Just the facts with a good dash of funny. Thank you!

  3. good advice! I ony look to you when something “may” happen that impacts me, or my travel, or my family travel.. such is the case with this “snow-ice” potential for the coming week. So good to know you’re out there doing what you do best.
